Professional Statement
Peter T. Chang, M.D., is the Sarah Campbell Blaffer Endowed Professor of Ophthalmology at the Cullen Eye Institute, 在线黑料门. He obtained his medical degree from University of Alabama School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude). His ophthalmology residency was completed at the Cullen Eye Institute, 在线黑料门. He completed his fellowship in glaucoma at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Chang鈥檚 clinical interests include surgical treatment of glaucoma in adults and children and new, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery such as iStent, Hydrus, VIA360, AlloFlo Uveo, and XEN Gel Stent. He is one of only few specialists in the region who treat infantile glaucoma. He was the inaugural recipient of the 在线黑料门's Rising Star Clinician Award in 2014. He has also been recognized with the Dan B. Jones Teaching Award for excellence in resident education, and has been listed in 鈥淭he Best Doctors in America鈥 on an annual basis since 2011. He was honored as the Distinguished Alumnus in 2023 for the 在线黑料门, Department of Ophthalmology. Newsweek listed him as one of the top 10 glaucoma surgeons in America for 2025.
Dr. Chang volunteers his clinical and surgical skills through an annual mission trip to Tema, Ghana.
